Silver Leadership
Silver Leadership Hazleton is a program designed to give retired and semi-retired citizens of the Hazleton area an in-depth view of the past, present and future of the Greater Hazleton area by taking them into the community, introducing them to the people who make it work, and encouraging them to investigate different sides of issues which concern them. During the annual session of Silver Leadership, five half-day sessions are held in a variety of locations from September through October. Each session focuses on different trends, strengths and weaknesses of the Greater Hazleton area. The final session of Silver Leadership is a celebratory luncheon during which the participants reflect on their Leadership experience. The goal of Silver Leadership is to help seniors create new pathways for their retirement years by linking knowledge gained through the program with their experience and skills. We believe that retirees can offer a wealth of knowledge, experience, leadership and vitality to their communities, while enriching their own lives. "Silver Leadership Hazleton" offers area seniors the opportunity to: Silver Leadership Hazleton is offered to its participants at no charge, through the generosity of program sponsors. As long as sponsors can be found, the program will be able to continue at no charge.

The Silver Leadership program is administered through the office of Leadership Hazleton, a 501 (c) (3) non profit corporation, founded in 1986.
Leadership Hazleton also administers an adult Leadership class, and the Hazleton Area Junior Leadership program for high school students.
