Leadership Hazleton
Participants in Leadership Hazleton come from every walk of life and they represent different professions, interests, backgrounds, and talents. However, they DO have one thing in common and that is that they want to see the Greater Hazleton Area become the best it can be in which to live, work, and play.

Leadership Hazleton
An affiliate of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, established in 1985, Leadersip Hazleton is a tuition based program with participants usually sponsored by their workplaces. Occasionally, scholarships are available for those in need. To participate in Leadership Hazleton, you should demonstrate a concern for the future of the area and have a desire to develop leadership, social, team building and professional skills. Participants attend a two day orientation session, a one day session per month from October through May, work with a peer group to complete a community service project and a second peer group to plan and execute one of the monthly sessions. Monthly sessions include Orientation; Past, Present, Predictions; Media/Communications; Local Government, Local Economic Development, Cultural Threads-Our Local Tapestry; Local Education Issues, Local Health Issues and The Power is You!! Participants learn a great deal about the Greater Hazleton Area, develop new skills to benefit themselves and their community, and their participation provides community visibility for their sponsor/employer. Each class member must also work with a team to plan, prepare and complete a community service project.
